Support
& Resources 
Nurses may work closely with shelters to
identify victims’ health needs and properly address them. Nurses may
also communicate effectively with both the abusers and the victims
to identify and cope with the precipitating factors that led to the
abuse. Injured victims and children within the abusive family must
be provided with temporary shelter and caregiver services until the
acute family or individual crisis is
resolved.
