Homeless youth need:
- Accessible health and social services
- Help with drug and alcohol related issues
- Safe and affordable housing
- Programs to complete education and acquire employment skills
- Opportunities to develop talents and interests to engage in meaningful activities
Self Image & Identity: Common Themes
- Expressed accomplishment if they graduated from high school
- Street smarts are a source of pride
- Independence is valued
- View themselves as labels: junkie, addict, street kid, panhandler, etc.
