  • Accessible health and social services
  • Help with drug and alcohol related issues
  • Safe and affordable housing
  • Programs to complete education and acquire employment skills
  • Opportunities to develop talents and interests to engage in meaningful activities

Self Image & Identity: Common Themes

  • Expressed accomplishment if they graduated from high school
  • Street smarts are a source of pride
  • Independence is valued
  • View themselves as labels: junkie, addict, street kid, panhandler, etc.
