What is Tranquility?


  "As a nursing student, I have chosen to focus on this topic about tranquility or being calm, because
of a variety of contributing stressful factors such as school, work, or personal relationships
that could affect us individuals in managing our daily lives. I will be sharing my personal ideas
in conjunction with some theoretical facts on how to cope and to alleviate stress
after encountering such difficult or disturbing situation(s). My inspiration of sharing this information
with you comes from within, hoping that you may find these strategies beneficial as you continue
with your journey in life.

"Tranquility is the quality of calm experienced in places with mainly natural features and activities, free from disturbance from manmade ones. As such it is a public good and can be seen as an indicator of environmental quality. Although it is harder to measure than other indicators such as water or air quality, by analyzing the various factors that contribute to tranquility it is possible to produce maps which show the relative
tranquillity of different areas" (Wikipedia, 2007).
