What Is Heroin?
Heroin is a semi-synthetic opioid. It causes the same sense of well being eupohria as endorphins made by our body. It is commonly used as a pain killer and also is being used as a recreational drug. It is highly addictive and can be difficult to withdraw.
Street Names
Some commonly used names for heroin are: gear, diesel, smack, B, skag,Bobby, black tar, horse, junk, jenny, brown, brown sugar, dope, dragon, H etc.
Uses
Heroin can be used in various therapeutic methods such as inhalation, transmucosal, intravenous, oral, rectal, intramuscular, intranasal. However, the common street route is either injection or snorting. Another method, known as "chasing the dragon" may also be used by inhaling the vapors formed with a heat source. Heroin can also be combined with cocaine for intravenous injection popularly known as a "speedball" or "snowball".
