The chatroom dialogues are also an important part of course participation. The chatrooms are housed on the secure side of the course website. Every other week you will have a topic assigned for comment and participation. I will be
looking for regular participation. Join in the discussion related to the concepts and the assigned topics. Secondly, respond to comments made by
your classmates. You will need to register and establish your profile on the secure site before proceeding to the forum.
WEEK 2: Chat 1 - Orientation Chat
Next scheduled session: Tuesday, 13 January 2004, 01:00 PM
I am scheduling an informal chat on January 13th at 1pm. This chat is open to all learners in the class and is meant to help you orient yourself to using the chat room. The discussion will be open to whatever you would like to talk about.
WEEK 3: Chat 2 - Primary Health Care
1. Participate in the chatroom discussion with your determined small group (we will decide groups during the Week 2 in class time). It is important that the group coordinate their times online to ensure a good participation level (as a group, we will decide on four chat times).
Discuss how primary health care is impacting on nursing, on client health and on the way the health budget is spent in BC. Predict the outcome of primary health care initiatives both in the province and nationally. Include insights related to the social determinants of health, community capacity and specific population groups in your dialogue.
